The study focuses on the use of methods and techniques for assessing research proposals, which are not always categorized under a common denominator, although many of them are found among theoretical and empirical approaches. Its aim is to identify the methods and techniques used to fulfill the scientific task related to evaluating scientific outcomes and to add others that can be classified into a group intended for this purpose. Doctoral theses, master's theses, and diplomas were reviewed, revealing that they are not always declared and sometimes declared but not utilized. As a result, a classification of methods for evaluating research proposals is proposed, which has already been applied at the Institute of Physical Education and Sport (Kilamba), contributing to achieving monographs of higher quality and scientific rigor. It is concluded that with the use of this proposal, researchers impart greater scientific rigor and reliability to their proposals, backed by specialists, experts, and scholars in the field whose recommendations facilitate the improvement of these outcomes.Keywords: scientific methods, evaluation, research proposals37
